OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this blog is to showcase and celebrate the architectural designs created by the Year 2/Grade 8 (2016) students of the School of Science and Technology (SST), Singapore, for their Architecture Design project in their Art, Design, Media and Technology (ADMT) subject area.
PROJECT BRIEF
The project brief for 2016 was for each team of students (2 to 3 students per team) to select a country of their choice for the World Expo 2016, and recreate a possible pavilion design of their selected country. With the EXPO 2016 happening at Antalya, Turkey, each class of 9 teams worked together within the team, and with other teams within the same class, to work on a unified piece of 9 pavilions that would best capture their class vision.
Working over a duration of 12 weeks, with a class time of 140 mins per week, students leverage design thinking to recreate viable personas, and to study the culture and people of their selected country better. With this deeper understanding, they then proceed to work on modeling possible design ideas that would best fit in with their vision and physical interpretations of what the selected country's pavilion would look like.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES
Each team of students were required to submit a design journal, a physical model of their pavilion on an A1 board, and a set of presentation boards that complements their presentation.
